Nickel plating

Electrolytic nickel is used as a coating for its good corrosion protection, adhesion and surface hardness. It is generally used as an intermediate coating for brass, copper or steel. The coating is technical and has a grey colour.

The pieces are treated in an electrolytic process. Nickel plating can be done on brass, copper or steel. Nickel plating is usually followed by tinning or silver plating. The treatment is done by rack or barrel plating methods in automated lines. The thickness of the coating can be measured with an X-ray machine.
